Hello,My name is Roberta Romi-Ude and I am originally from Lompoc California. For the majority of my life I have lived and worked around the military. For the past 20+ years I have lived in the Long Beach area and came to the area due to being a Navy military wife at the time.
My first experience of college was Long Beach City College in the 90's. During my first chapter of college at LBCC I received my certificate in Computer Programming in 1996, and then continued on to completed my AA/Business Information Systems in 1999.
The second chapter started when I had my son at the end of completing my AA and that’s when I realized I needed to move faster with my education. Then I decided to try the University of Phoenix to complete my Bachelors. It took three years to complete my BS/Information Technology 2002.The third chapter started nine years later to complete my Masters and went back to University of Phoenix. It was hard to get back into studying again, but I bore down and completed my MBA/Technology Management in 18 months 2011.
For my 20+ years living in the Long Beach area I have always worked in Security. My first eight years were spent working as a Security Officer/Console Operator as contract security working for various defenses contract companies. Then I was given the opportunity after receiving my AA to be hired by Boeing North American working for their security group as a Computer Security Professional. Since then I have been working defense contracts ever since as a Security System Analyst is the current title from Computer Security. Currently, I have been employed with Northrop Grumman for the past 9 ½ years.
Last, my current new adventure while working full time during the day, then in the evening I Instruct BCOM15 and COSA30 here at LBCC giving back the opportunity LBCC gave to me some years ago. Looking forward to helping the current generation of students move forward to meet there goals in life.
